Summer fragrance

Jo Malone kept winning my summer fragrance search. These three scents gave me fresh, soft, and slightly unexpected options for warm weather.

Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey cologne

Spring and summer…the perfect time of year to switch a few things up in my life. It signals a time to temporarily shelf some of my old favorite things and try to find some new favorites for the season. There are some changes that are huge for me and difficult for me to make. The make-up, easy, it’s a no-brainer. Nail polish? Check, done! Wardrobe…of course canNOT wait! My fragrance…that is when it always gets sticky. I like what I like. I find a couple of scents and they become my signature for way too long. This year I have been so committed to finding a summer fragrance, or several, to add to my rotation of scents.

What began as a mixture of dread yet anticipation in pursuit of said summer fragrance turned into a fun experience once I spotted a very familiar, clean and minimalist fragrance display. I had a basic idea of what I wanted. The fragrance had to remind me of the beach or a vacation getaway, or it had to be slightly sweet yet clean. The Jo Malone display turned out to be just what I needed. There were so many combinations of unique scents, from citrus to spicy, and a lot of them smelled amazing layered.

I am so glad I became reacquainted with Jo Malone. I used to wear the Wild Fig and Cassis scent before it was discontinued. LOVED it. It did not take long before I became obsessed with another Jo Malone scent, Nectarine Blossom & Honey. Oh. My. Goodness. Pure deliciousness. It sounds like it is very fruity and very sweet. It’s neither. It is a beautiful balance with notes of peach and black currant. My other favorites were Peony & Blush Suede and Wood Sage & Sea Salt.

Jo Malone became one of those fragrance houses I kept coming back to when I wanted something clean, interesting, and easy to layer.

If you like the whole seasonal switch-up thing as much as I do, my spring makeup rotation was another one of those little refreshes. And when I want to go in the opposite direction and keep everything really simple, my no-makeup makeup routine is over here.
